Chef Lacey Huntley ~ Remington’s at The Bridges~
Chef Lacey has been cooking in Montrose for 20 years, using her on job training and passion for food to make creative and fun cuisine. She enjoys cooking in local competitions and mentoring students who show an interest in culinary arts through the Montrose High School COS program. She recently accepted the position of Chef de Cuisine at Remington’s at The Bridges. Remington’s recently received their 3rd prestigious Wine Spectator Award and features steak and seafood, utilizing fare from several local farms in a spectacular mountain-view setting. Chef Linda Lovegreen ~ Climb elevated eatery ~
Linda has always had a passion for connecting people through food; she began her culinary career about 12 years ago when she started taking culinary classes and working as a cook to hone her skills with the dream of opening her own place someday. Her dream was fulfilled on March 17th, 2016 when Climb elevated eatery was opened. Climb offers an elevated dining experience where fabulous American comfort food is served in an attentive, friendly setting with great wine and cocktails. A baker who has refined her skills for the past 20 years, Chef Heather offers a full range of catering services as the new owner of Pine Cone Catering Co. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Heather fine tuned her skills in restaurants in Missouri and Illinois but became hooked on the local food movement in Madison, WI. A strong advocate of farm to table and healthy living practices, she can also be found at the Montrose Farmers Market. Chef Christian Arocho ~ Creekside at Cobble Creek
A native from Puerto Rico, Chef Chris graduated from Johnson & Wales in Florida and has spent the past 20+ years working between Florida, Vail, Beaver Creek and a private ranch in De beque Colorado. He has joined the team at Cobble Creek to help re-open Creekside Restaurant, an Italian themed- Colorado Fresh restaurant located on the south end of Town in Montrose. Sourcing as much product as possible from around the valley, Creekside will offer fresh made dishes alongside classic cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Chef Dave Frank ~ Private Chef de Cuisine ~
Dave Frank began his culinary journey in 1977 as a dishwasher at the Country Kitchen in Montrose. After 2 weeks, he was promoted to line cook. Even during his time in the U.S.A.F., Dave had jobs in restaurants. In a career spanning 28 years, Dave apprenticed with respected chefs, worked his way up from line cook, through Sous Chef, head Chef, to Chef de Cuisine. Dave has worked in country clubs, on movie sets, managed pizza joints, and fine dining restaurants. After 8 years as Chef at the Camp Robber in Montrose, Dave semi-retired in 2006. He currently keeps his hand in by donating wine pairing dinners for local non-profits.
Chef Nick Rinne ~ The Vine ~
Awarded top chef in two local competitions, Nick Rinne received his culinary training at Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland. Recently Chef Nick merger The Bistro with partner Tyler Mize of LaFamilia to create The Vine, a full service farm-to-table restaurant, bar and local food market. The market is designed to act as a “Farm Hub” to promote local growers by shelving and marketing their goods for a larger, centralized audience. “We offer healthy, fresh made dishes, and support the local economy by striving to use as many local products as possible. We make almost everything in house, from our meatballs and hand stretched mozzarella, to falafel. Chef Kalon Wall ~ The Sunflower ~
Born into a family in the restaurant business, Chef Kalon’s passion for food developed early. He majored in photography at Montana State where a senior project involving macro-food photography won awards, landing him entrance into the New England Culinary Institute where he met his current Sous Chef, Ian Scott. After completing a 6 -month internship at a 3 star Michelin restaurant in San Sebastian, Spain he moved to the Piedmont area of Italy to learn traditional Italian cuisine. Returning to the states, he served as Executive Chef of Plonk Wine Bar in Bozeman, MT and La Zuna in Denver. After 3 years at Eastside Bistro in Crested Butte he opened Supper at the Sunflower, a farm-to-table shared kitchen concept restaurant. He specializes in using the whole animal, be it lamb or beef and using seasonal vegetable from area producers. The menu changes nightly and to date he has created over 675 different menus. The MHS Catering class offers students the opportunity to improve their culinary skills and expertise in the areas of food preparation and techniques, quantity food production and food management. They will also have exposure menu planning and pricing, customer service and food safety and sanitation. Field To Fork is a small family run farm in Palisade Colorado. We grow a variety of annual fruits and vegetables as well as stone and pommel fruit. We are an Organic farm and we farm 20 acres. Currently we work in Mesa County reaching out to community members through our CSA program. We also work with many of the great local restaurants in our area. Due to the Valley Food Partnership in 2017 we will start growing produce for our local school district. We also work with a few other distributors in Colorado to help sell our products. We love farming in Palisade Colorado and enjoy the mild weather and micro climate that our area has to offer. We enjoy feeding our local community nutritious food and helping improve our local food system.
